Driving Consistency and Excellence in Sustainable Drainage in Wales

SAB Society Wales serves as the unified voice for Sustainable Drainage Approving Bodies (SABs) across Wales. 

We collaborate with the wider development community to enhance flood risk management, promote water quality, ensure delivery of improved place making and improved biodiversity outcomes. 

We also work to ensure that Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) can be easily, safely and cost effectively constructed and maintained, so that the benefits are seen throughout the lifetime of the development. 

Who We Are

SAB Society Wales consists of:

  • An Executive Board, elected annually by the Society
  • A Steering Committee formed of the Chief SAB Officers for each of the 22 SABs in Wales
  • Membership - open to all SAB Officers in Wales

What we do

SAB Society Wales supports the work of SABs by engaging with relevant organisations and stakeholders and, where necessary, lobbying for change with the aim of promoting consistency and excellence across Wales.

We provide direct training to SAB Officers and share guidance, experience and promote best practice with the wider SuDS Community.
